Idaho State Journal, 06/24/01 MALAD — Joyce Hess, 64, of Malad passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2001, in the Portneuf Valley Hospital in Pocatello. She was born June 12, 1937, in Tremonton, Utah, a daughter of Ray Leonard and Mildred Nellie Robbins Hess. She grew up and was educated in Malad, where she had lived her entire life. Joyce was a volunteer Pink Lady at the Oneida County Hospital. She was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she had served in the Primary and Ward Choir. Joyce is survived by four brothers, Cleon R. (Millie) Hess of East Garland, Utah; Eldon J. Hess of South Ogden, Utah; Daryl R. Hess of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Steven D. (Mitzi) Hess of Holbrook, Idaho. She is survived also by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Kay Lynn and David Allen. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to services from 10 a.m. until service. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
