She was born April 22, 1912, in Samaria, Idaho, the daughter of Evan Jenkins and Ann Williams Martin. Ruth was reared in Samaria, Idaho, and lived over 50 years in Pocatello, Idaho. She attended beauty school in Pocatello, Idaho. She married George E. Lewis April 4, 1941, in Blackfoot, Idaho. She was a member of the LDS Church and served as visiting teacher and in the Relief Society. Ruth had a great love of music, and was a member of the Silver Chords singing group. Ruth worked as a cosmetologist in Pocatello for over 50 years, and did not retire until 1985. She loved music and enjoyed traveling, but her family was her greatest joy. Surviving are one son, Daniel (Kristine) Lewis, Roy, Utah; one daughter, Mary Lee (David) Lien, Pocatello, Idaho; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one nephew, Evan (Nancy) Meyers and his family, Sugar City, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Dan W. Martin and LaVern Martin, and one sister, Anna Martin Meyers. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 18, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, Idaho. Friends and family may call Wednesday, April 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, will be in the Malad City Cemetery. Funeral directors are Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah.
