He was surrounded by loved ones and family. Darrel was born August 18, 1946, in Malad, Idaho. He spent his youth in Holbrook and Malad, attending Malad schools and graduating in 1964. He served in the New England mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After graduating from BYU, he taught school at Cedar City, Utah. He served for two years in the United States Air Force. He worked in Salt Lake City, and then moved to California. He recently retired from AT&T, and moved back to Malad. He is survived by his life partner, Peter Serafin, his parents, Stuart and Faye Tubbs, one brother, Ron (Teresa) Tubbs, all of Malad; his sisters, Beverly (Paul) Howell of Nibley, Utah, Sharon (Sam) Hendricks of Salt Lake City, Joyce Mizrahi of Boulder, Colorado; several nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by a brother, Stuart Dan, a sister, Vicky Hall and two nephews. Services will be held Friday, April 19, 2002, at 1 p.m. at the Malad Second Ward, 20 South 100 West. The family will receive friends at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 West 200 North, Malad Thursday, April 18 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Burial will take place in the Malad City Cemetery.
