Id Obits Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Id/OneidaObits/10082 Surname: Williams, Jones, Adams ------------------------- Ogden Standard Examinar, Sunday, March 11, 2001 Leona Jones Williams, 99, of Malad, our beautiful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, quietly slipped away into the arms of her Heavenly Father Friday, March 9, 2001 until the time that her family can again be reunited as an eternal family. She was in her home with loved ones at her side at the time of her death. She was born December 1, 1901 in Malad, a daughter of John Ashel Jones and Mary Adams. She had four brothers and three sisters. She married her only true love John Jones Williams in Malad, the 21st of December, 1921. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on July 25th, 1935. Leona lived in Malad her entire life. She was an active member the LDS church and served in many capacities. She received her education in Malad. Her greatest joy was her family. Her hobbies were gardening, canning, cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, and serving others. She was the mother of eight children, two sons and six daughters. She is survived by five devoted children: John Jones (Verlene) Williams, Mary Delene (Robert W.) Edwards, Ila Mae (Wynn) John, Bonnie (Hugh) Johnson, Rosa Lee (Tyndale) Evans. 40 grandchildren, 131 great grandchildren, and 29 great great grandchildren, and one brother Vernon (Carol) Jones, two foster granddaughters, and three foster great grandsons. She was a woman who made friends, and was loved by all those who knew her. Her life was one of compassion and kindness to everyone. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and daughter-in-law, Sharrel Don (Edna) Williams, two daughters, and their spouses, Leona Marie (Pete) Goodey, Kay Dean (Gerald) Williams, one son-in-law William Floyd Hill, one grandson Leon John, two granddaughters Ila Marie Goodey, and Kristine Goodey Clark and three infant grandsons. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 12th, at noon in the Malad Stake chapel with 6th Ward Bishop Marvin Pett officiating. Friends may call at the Benson Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W 300 N this evening from 6 to 8 and 10 to 11:30 prior to services. Burial will be held in the Malad City Cemetery.
