She graduated from Malad schools, then Albion State Normal, and taught primary grades in Preston and St. John, ID prior to her marriage to John Phenoi Deschamps, May 21, 1937. It was later solemnized in the Mesa LDS Temple April 29, 1950. They made their home and raised three children in Burbank, CA. Ruth later graduated from L.A. State College and resumed teaching. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in all auxiliaries. She was widowed in 1963. She moved to Murray, UT in 1976 to be near children and grandchildren. She was a Jordan River Temple worker and active in single senior activities. She loved entertaining grandchildren, traveling throughout the world, writing elaborated journals, personal histories, letters, and a clever autobiography. She moved to Sandy, UT in her declining years. She is survived by three children, Mary Kaye (Dennis) Doyle, Sandy, John (Jenny), Guam, Gordon (Julie), Payson; sister, Lucille (Bob) Keene, Bountiful; and brothers, Tom Thomas, Soda Springs, ID, Boyd Thomas, Malad. Services will be in Malad, ID, Tues. 12 noon.
