She was born in Malad, Idaho, on November 8, 1919, to Margaret Fairlie Jenkins and Albert Davis Jones. She attended school in Malad and graduated from high school. Fairlie married Edward Hill April 30, 1938, in Logan, Utah. They lived in Malad, where they farmed for a time, and then moved to Pocatello, where Ed worked for the P.F.E. Railroad. They bought a 40-acre farm in Tyhee on Ballard Road. Two sons were born to them, Albert and Don. In 1957 they moved in town and lived on Euclid Street. Fairlie took LPN training and began working for the State Hospital South in Blackfoot, Idaho, from 1961 to 1969. She then went to work for Bannock Memorial Hospital from 1970 to 1977, retiring at that time. Fairlie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Edward had their marriage solemnized in 1968, at the Idaho Falls Temple. Edward preceded her in death September 29, 1969. Fairlie remained very active in the church, teaching Primary for 15 years and a stake worker for five years, and was a visiting teacher until 2000, when she moved from her home to the Bannock Nursing Home. Fairlie married William Wood July 5, 1977. They traveled a lot and enjoyed each other. William preceded her in death November 9, 1983. She lost her eyesight in 1982. She is survived by her son, Don Edward Hill, Idaho Falls, Idaho; grandsons, Allen Hill and Todd Hill, both of Pocatello; stepdaughter, Carol Ann Badger, Paul, Idaho; stepson, Gene Wood, Pocatello, Idaho; and 10 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, a son, Albert Dee Hill, a stepson, Dean Wood, and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Hill. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brother! s, Marvin and Clifford Jones, five sisters, Thelma and Amelia Jones, Pheobe Condie, Pearl Atkinson and Margaret Hughes. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2002, at Colonial Funeral Chapel, 2005 S. Fourth Ave., Pocatello. The viewing will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. tonight, Friday, October 4, 2002, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. prior to the services Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, St. John, Idaho.
