He was born June 21, 1915, in Kaysville, Utah, a son of Archie H. and Clara Webb Nalder. On May 7, 1937, he married Lola Steed in Malad, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. His wife, Lola, passed away August 7, 1987, at the age of 68. Archie served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He worked for the Oneida County Conservation District. In 1956, he moved to Terry, Montana, to work for the U.S. Soil Conservation Service, a job he worked for 21 years before moving back to Holbrook in 1977. Archie was an active member and high priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his daughter, Carol Madsen, two grandchildren, Brenda and Michael Madsen, and six great-grandchildren, Thomas, Tamara, Tiffany, Austin, Shayla and Mariya Madsen, all of Meridian, Idaho. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2003, at noon in the Holbrook LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad on Wednesday evening, Feb. 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Thursday at the church in Holbrook from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Burial will follow in the Holbrook Cemetery, with military rites by the American Legion, Ernest W. Jones Post No. 65.
