She was born April 17, 1902 in Salt Lake City to Apostle Marriner Wood and Hilda Maria Erickson Merrill. She married Sumner E. Hale Dec. 24, 1920 in the Logan LDS Temple. Anna Mae attended Logan City schools, Brigham Young College and Utah State University. She lived in Oakley and Malad, Idaho and Ann Arbor, Michigan. She also lived in Salt Lake City for seven years. The rest of her life was spent in Logan. She worked for The Herald Journal and the Utah State University library. She traveled in the United States, Canada, Europe and North Africa. Survivors include daughter Mary Louise Hale Rector, Murray, Utah; grandson Louis (Carol) Patrick Rector, Allegany, New York; and great grandsons Matthew and John of Allegany, New York. Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 18, in the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 E. Center, Logan. Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be held in the Richmond City Cemetery.
