He was born December 17, 1914, at Arbon, Idaho, the son of Parley Hawkins and Mary Jane Roderick Bailey. He married Doris Edna Webber June 24, 2936, at West Jordan, Utah. Doris passed away March 5, 1985. Seth married Madge Zoellner May 18, 1985, at Soda Springs, Idaho. He had lived at Arbon, Malad, Richmond, Utah, Rupert, Idaho, then Heyburn, Idaho, where he was educated and graduated from the eighth grade. He moved to Bancroft in 1952, where he had since resided. Seth is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he held many positions including financial clerk for several years. He and his wife, Madge, served as ordinance workers in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple for two years. Seth was a member of the Bancroft Lions Club for many years. He managed Call Bros. Grain Elevator in Bancroft for many years; he was also the postmaster in Bancroft from 1968, until his retirement. Seth enjoyed his family, and especially loved it when his great-grandchildren would come to visit. He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Lynn and Clare Bailey, Salt Lake City, Utah, Kay and Diane Bailey, Bancroft, Idaho, Carole Ann and Jim Willmore, St. Anthony, Idaho, Darlene and Keith Clegg, Soda Springs, Idaho; also three stepchildren, Valerie and Gerald Ackerman, Bancroft, Idaho, Maureen and Robert Rasmussen, Magrath, Alberta, Canada, and Malcolm and Marion Wilkinson, Ramsgate, England. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters, William Ray Bailey, Norman Bailey, Keith Bailey, Mary Wilcox and Wanda Stimpson, all of Heyburn, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters, and a son-in-law. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Feb. 7 at noon at the Bancroft LDS Chapel. Friends may call on Thursday evening, Feb. 6 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs, and on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to services at the Bancroft LDS Chapel. Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
