Surnames: Sterrett, Price, Williams Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Qg.2ADE/362 Message Board Post: Idaho State Journal, 02/04/03 OGDEN, Utah - Emma Pearl Price Sterrett, age 88, passed away February 2, 2003, in the Crestwood Care Center after suffering many months from the effects of a stroke.She was born November 12, 1914, in Samaria, Idaho, to John Morse Price and Ruth Williams. She was from a large family of 14 children. She married Clifton Alex Sterrett June 20, 1935, in Alpine, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 13, 1950. He passed away May 15, 1980. Pearl lived in Samaria until she married Clinton, and then they moved to Alpine, Wyoming. After one year they moved to Oakland, California, where their three children were born. In 1944, they moved to Ashland, Oregon, and remained in Oregon until 1974, when they moved to Ogden, Utah. She had resided there since that time. Pearl was a wonderful mother, homemaker and caregiver. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in the Primary, Relief Society and the YWMIA presidencies. She loved to do handiwork and shared her talents with many friends and family members. She enjoyed traveling to several countries in her later years with family members. She survived by her children, Don Clinton (Beth) Sterrett of Orem, Utah, Morris Ray (Janis) Sterrett of Ogden, Utah, and Beverly Jean (Eldon) Capener of Riverdale, Utah; and 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her two brothers, William W Price and Jerry D. Price; and five sisters, Verda Varga, Mary Behunin, Alta Knudsen, Ann Griffith and Edith (Patsy) Scott. Her parents, husband and two brothers, John W. Price and Cleo W. Price, and three sisters, Ruth Powell, Lucille Leavitt and Faye Parker, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 7, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Ogden Kingston Ward Chapel, 1425 Kingston Drive (the corner of Polk and Kingston), Ogden, Utah. Friends may call at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah, on Thursday, February 6, 2003, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
