He was born December 18, 1911, at Stone, Idaho, the son of James M. and Minerva Magdeline (Houston) Baggett. He married Dorothy Mary Anderson on August 29, 1934, in Burley, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. They moved to California where Oleen worked in the orange groves. They returned to Burley, where he farmed for five years. They moved to Buhl, where he farmed in the Northview area for 60 years. He then started the Baggett Riverview Orchard, which was a lifetime dream. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and water skiing. He loved to sing and belonged to the Magichords barbershop group for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Baggett of Buhl; three sons, Gene (Lorraine) Baggett, Gary (Judy) Baggett, and Larry (Delores) Baggett of Buhl; two daughters, Judy (Ray) Wight of Twin Falls and Viola (Vern) Chidester of Buhl; one brother, Ivan Baggett of Bolivia; 17 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Mary, Beulah, Rose, Ruth and Pearl; four brothers, D. M. (Mac), James, Dave and Noel; and by one granddaughter, April Baggett. Funeral services for Oleen Baggett will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2003, at the Buhl 1st Ward LDS Chapel, with Bishop Don Prigmore conducting. Interment will follow in the West End Cemetery. Friends may call at White Mortuary, 136 4th Ave. E., Twin Falls, on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Thursday.
