Tony was born October 18, 1907 in Dillon, Montana, the first born of Isaac VanPelt and Luella Jenkins Warner. Tony moved with his family to Malad when he was a year old. He graduated from Malad High School and went on to the University of Idaho, graduating in 1931 with a B.A. degree in Business. Tony’s first job was serving as a band teacher in Council, ID. He taught there less than a year when the depression forced the closing of the school and he moved back to Malad to work on the family farm. On September 3, 1931 he married Anna Lois Fredrickson in Malad, ID. In 1935 they moved to Kimberly, where he was the band director for seven years. During this time he won the honor of taking his marching band to the Portland Rose Parade. In 1942 he took over Dumas Music in Twin Falls. It was later changed to Warner Music and remained thus for over 50 years until Tony retired in 1993. On February 28, 1975 Tony married Sharon Rowsell in Elko, NV. During the mid-1950s Tony directed the Twin Falls Drum and Bugle Corp and played in the Twin Falls City Band and the Magic Valley Symphony Orchestra. He also enjoyed playing in dance bands. After retiring, Tony spent his remaining years with his loving wife, Sharon. Tony is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Twin Falls; three children, Mary Karen (Fred) Bulmann of North Plains, OR, William Franklin (Judy) Warner, Jr. of Boise and John Fredrickson (Renee) Warner of San Ramon, CA.; five grandchildren, Julie, John, Scott, Tim, and Jamie; and five great-grandchildren.
