Knorr returned home to her Father in Heaven peacefully on October 9, 2000 as a result of a heart condition at the age of 72. Her birth place was Malad, Idaho on Nov. 27, 1927 to Arthur M. Ward and Cecil Moss Ward as the youngest of seven children. She was married to Thomas W. York, Jr. on Jan. 24, 1947 but later divorced in 1953. She then married Leland Knorr on January 31, 1957 and their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 18, 1978. She retired from Utah Power. She enjoyed church service including working as a matron in the Jordan River Temple. She was a member of the Schubert Singers and donated many hours entertaining others. Mom enjoyed spending time and golfing with her family and friends. Unfortunately she had to cancel her last tee time. She is survived by her son Terrell W. York, his wife Pam and grandchildren: Tyler, Brittney Avondet, (Brian), Amy Shumway (Clayton), Trevor and Alli, and her sisters: Elaine Gardner of Salt Lake, Faye Hansen (K.V.) of Brigham City, Wanda Napier Wharton, and Theda Pilgrim of Malad, Idaho. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 13, 2000, 12 noon at the Granite 11th Ward, 9855 So. 2300 East. Friends may call at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) Thursday, October 12, 2000 from 6-8 p.m. and the day of the service at the church from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
