He was born February 15, 1922, in Beatrice, Nebraska, to George and Minnie Francis Sykes Lippold. He remained happily married to his sweetheart, Barbara Dickann, for 52 years, after a 13-day courtship. They were married in Ely, Nevada, on August 7, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on April 29, 1995. Harold was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as high priest in the Malad Fifth Ward, where he enjoyed his service as a home teacher. He was a veteran of World War II, having served bravely with the United States Marine Corps from August 1942, to December 1945, in the South Pacific. His multi-faceted life included service in the Civil Conservation Corps, working in the silver mines in Pioche, Nevada, the coal mines of Wyoming, and the logging camps in Washington state. He rode the rodeo circuit and worked on several ranches. Some called him a true cowboy. He was a jack-of-all-trades, and mastered everything he set out to do. He chose a career with the Weber County Mosquito Abatement in Ogden, Utah, as a master mechanic, retiring May 1, 1980, after 30 years. Harold and Barbara retired to Malad, and built a cabin together on 50 acres of ground. They later remodeled an older home on Cherry Creek Road, were they resided until the time of his death. He had been an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his family. He was a talented artist who had painted many pictures now enjoyed by family and friends. Everyone who knew him know that he enjoyed working and took great pride in his home and yard. Most of all, he enjoyed short trips with his wife and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife; four sons and four daughters, Burt (Deanne) Lippold, Roy, Utah, Betty (Raymond) Brogan, North Ogden, Utah, Carol Citte, Riverdale, Utah, Mark Lippold, Roy, Utah, Toni (Robert) Godwin, Los Lunas, N.M., Rex Lippold, Malad, Idaho, Matt (LaJoy) Lippold, Sunset, Utah, and Terri (Jim) Murrill of Ogden, Utah.
