He was born October 20, 1919, in Malad City, ID, to Franklin Oliver and Mary Ann (Dalton) Madsen. Ray married Margaret Lois Dickson oon October 6, 1941 in Cherry Creek, Idaho. They were sealed at the Idaho Falls Temple on June 12, 1999. Ray worked as a rigger at the Naval Ordnace Plant, was a ranch hand, a sheep herder, and a mill operator for Simplot. He was high priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in which he and Lois served as baptismal font caretakers. Ray really enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, camping and most of all, his family. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lois Madsen, Pocatello, ID; children, Larry R. (Hazel) Madsen, Idaho Falls, ID, Donna Lee (Jerry) Moeller, McCammon, ID, Neil R. (Mickey) Madsen, Pocatello, ID; brothers, Clifford D. Madsen, Boise, ID, DeWayne (Leah) Madsen, Granite Falls, WA; a sister, Faye Madsen Ward, Cherry Creek, ID; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ruby Merrill, brothers, Albert Madsen, Leland Madsen, Reed Madsen, Franklin Madsen and Boyd Madsen, and a son,Albert D. Madsen. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 5, 2000, at the Tyhee Stake House, with Bishop Richard Watt officiating. Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery.
