Potter, 87 died Friday, September 15, 2000 at his home in Malad, Idaho. He was born December 2, 1912 in Riverside, Utah, the third child of William E. and Olive Moon Potter. As a child he moved to Farmington, where he lived until 1999. He married Maisey Kershaw Sandall, August 26, 1937 in Salt Lake. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple December 28, 1959. She died February 8, 1978. He married Elaine Manning June 23, 1978. He and his two brothers raised and sold registered Hereford cattle throughout the west. He later raised cattle with his sons and grandsons on his ranches in Farmington, Morgan, and Promontory, and Malad and Arco, ID until his death. John was a member of the Utah Hereford Assn., Utah Cattlemans Assn. and a Director of the Shepherd Creek Irrigation Company. He enjoyed raising cattle, gardening, equipment operation, and restoration. He is survived by his wife, Elaine, Malad; two sons, Richard (Gerri) Potter, Malad; David (Patty) Potter, Farmington; five grandsons, John, Jay, Paul, Bryan, Brance two great-grandsons, Chet, and Michael, and one great-granddaughter, Kate. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Herman, Steve, and two sisters, Lucille and Helen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 19th at 2 p.m. at the Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary and Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
