Udy, 78, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 28, 2002 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family who provided her with kind and loving care throughout her illness. Nadine was born on July 14, 1924 in Malad, Idaho, the eleventh of twelve children born to Janet Thomas and Ephriam Thorpe. She married the loved of her life, John Udy, on April 8, 1945. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 8, 1955. Nadine loved to travel having visited various cities in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Mexico over the past few years. She enthusiastically attended her children and grandchildren"s sports activities and was an avid Jazz fan. She most enjoyed being around her family preparing excellent meals, quilting and spending quality time with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful role model and mother to her five children. She also enjoyed working as a bridal consultant for several years. Nadine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many capacities including a teacher in the Primary, secretary of the Sunday School and a member of the Bear River Ward Relief Society presidency. She loved the gospel and happily served her Heavenly Father by fulfilling a Special Service Mission in the Mount Ogden Stake and serving as a temple ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple where she had many spiritual experiences. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, John Udy and her five children, Pam (Greg) Royster, Marilyn (Wayne) Cox, Randy (Laura) Udy, Tammy (Randy) Richards, Kevin (Pam) Udy, all of Ogden; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Lela (Edward) Doutre and Donna (Marvin) Hansen, and her brothers, Thomas (Lila) Thorpe, Neil (Emma) Thorpe and William (Reva) Thorpe. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ruth and Mary, and four brothers, Clem, Lorin, Cenius, and Ephriam. The family expresses their gratitude for the care given by Dr. J. Call and IHC Hospice who showed so much kindness and professionalism while caring for our mother. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 1, 2002 at 1 p.m. at the Uintah 6th Ward Chapel (Ogden Utah Weber Stake Center), 5855 So. Skyline Drive (approximately 2000 E.) in Ogden. Family will greet friends at Lindquist"s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road (exit 335, then East to Fairfield Road, then South) on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday at the Ward Chapel from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Lindquist"s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
