Blaine Sasser, 85, of Pingree, died Tuesday, January 16, 2001, at his home from natural causes. He was born August 12, 1915, in Holbrook, Idaho, the son of Luther Blain and Helena Michaelis Sasser. He attended Malad High School, where he was active in sports. On December 25, 1936, he married Ardeena Nalder in Holbrook, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized on February 16, 1968, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He worked at various jobs in Garland and Tremonton, Utah. In 1939, they purchased a farm in Pingree, where he lived the rest of his life. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Young Men’s president, elder’s quorum president and high priest group leader. He enjoyed working with youth groups in both church and 4-H. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Ardeena, of Pingree; children, Lyle (Sonja) Sasser of Richland, Wash., Ileen (Del) Bunce of Eagle, Idaho, OraLee (Paul) Woods of Pingree, Idaho, and Eldon Sasser of Duval, Wash.; three sisters, Nellie Gleed of Provo, Utah, Ethel (Eph) Hawkins of Murray, Utah, and Fern Williams of Beaver, Utah; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2001, at the Lakeview LDS Chapel, with Bishop Larry Lankford conducting. The family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday evening, Jan. 19, at the Hawker, Hill Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to the services at the church Saturday. Interment will be in the Springfield Cemetery.
