    1. [IDONEIDA] Grant Morgan Parry (1919-2014) Obituary
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: AMHhenley Surnames: Parry, Morgan, Timbimboo Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.idaho.counties.oneida/1980/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Doing good all the days of his life, at the age of 95, Grant Morgan Parry peacefully passed away at the home of his daughter on November 27, 2014. The sixth of seven children, he was born on October 23, 1919 in Malad, Idaho to Joseph and Margaret Morgan Parry. He was eight years old when the Parry family was called to serve a mission among the Shoshone Indians at Washakie, Utah. He quickly made friends learning their language and songs. He loved the Shoshone people. It was while he lived in Washakie that he met and married Mae Timbimboo in 1938. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Grant worked as a repairman before obtaining work at HAFB where he was an Industrial Engineer Technician. He built his home in Clearfield, Utah where he raised his family. Throughout his life, he was everyone's handyman, emergency mechanic, and family farmer. There wasn't anything he couldn't do or anyone he wouldn't help. He was musically gifted, talented in writing, and playing sports-especially coaching volleyball, basketball, and softball. He set a record by leading his teams to the All Church Tournaments 17 straight years. Having served in several LDS stake and ward leadership positions, working with the youth was among his favorite. But being a husband, father, and grandfather was his greatest calling. He learned faith wasn't something that was taught-it was something that was absorbed through the example of a loving home-and he lived it well-a perfect example for his posterity. His sister, Margaret Kirkpatrick, four children and one son-in-law survive him: Bruce and Darlene Parry, Brian and LaRae Parry, Tom and Jean Snow, Steve and Ann Gross, and Val Wilcox. His son Myron, daughter Janet, and his eternal companion Mae preceded him in death. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield City Cemetery. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
