Has everyone heard that Ancestry is closing down the Rootsweb mailing lists in March? Is the admin of this list going to try and migrate the group somewhere else? We have started a new Idaho Genealogy message board/mailing list at "Groups.io" ( https://groups.io/g/IdahoGenealogy ) We want to place links to any county groups or specialized Idaho lists or groups on the home page. Of Course, anyone interested in Idaho genealogy is encouraged to join this new group I hope to hear from you RandyC
Looking for direct relatives of George T. Nisbet. George T. Nisbet born September 28, 1848 in Adair County, Missouri to Joseph S. and Mary (Holsted) Nisbet. His siblings, all born in Missouri, were Robert S., Margaret, Samuel and Moseph M. Nisbet. George, and his brother Robert S. and family, came to Idaho sometimes around the 1880s, and lived in Ada County, but later on Robert moved to Minidoka County, probably after the death of George. George died, unmarried, on March 23, 1888 in Ada County, Idaho. He was buried in Five Mile Cemetery in Meridian, Ada, Idaho. I'm looking for anyone who are directly related to George T. Nisbet because I've inquired a daguerreotype ( 2.5"x4", full body) photograph of George T. Nisbet with his signature on back. I would like to give this photograph to anyone who might be interested in such priceless heirloom, but only if you are directly related to him. All I need is for you to send me a private email @ blindgenealogist@gmail.com and give me your lineage to George's parents, Joseph S. and Mary (Holsted) Nisbet. If in case of multple inquirers, then I'll do a lottery of your name. Thank you, Matt Friend State Coordinator IDGenWeb Project

Listers, I am new on this list...I have been researching the family of HENRY LORE who died in Rupert in 1920. I have gone to all means to find his parentage and have not tried propate yet. And yet I'm sure there will be nothing found in a court document that would mention his parents. But I am desperate, and this is the last thing I can think of.... I see that the FHL has a microfilm of wills 1911-1957 but I can't tell if it's indexed...has anyone had any experience with it to know if it's indexed??? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Barbara Lewis (helping Linda Lore of Ogden, UT)
A free family history / social history / cultural history of the United States from 1620-2006 is available at _http://www.winsite.com/bin/Info?22000000036712_ (http://www.winsite.com/bin/Info?22000000036712) . The download is a software program that I created that allows you to read the book "STILL CASTING SHADOWS: Two American Families 1620-2006" written by Blackbird Crow Raven (Spartacus O'Clare). The acknowledgment section may include the names of one or more people from this mailing list who have contributed in some way to the book. You can print the manuscripts, but beware in that case that the main document is almost 500 pages. You can send feedback, suggestions, comments, questions to either the programmer (me) or the author (Blackbird Crow Raven) from within the software program. Clay Shannon
My grandparents, Albert and Alice (Green) Kollenborn (and my mother), lived around Rupert in the 1940s. During that time the last three of their six children were born (Sharon Dee, Patsy Jane, and Benjamin Lee). Does anybody have any recollections of the Kollenborns, or their relatives the Charles and Ruth (Green) Logstons, or the Marion and Mary (Green) McCools, who also relocated to Idaho with them from Benton County, Arkansas? Can anybody get ahold of the birth announcements for Sharon Dee, Patsy Jane, and Benjamin Lee Kollenborn? Probably between 1942 and 1946--give or take a year, Sharon was born in '42, Patsy in '44, and Benny in '46. Hello all! My name is Heather, and I write for, edit and publish our local Genealogy newsletter here in Wyoming. My "Most Wanted" column is empty at the moment and need some researchers to fill in the blanks. FOR FREE you can send me a small write up on who you are looking for. The facts should include the name of the person and what particular information you are looking for. Sometimes it helps to give some information you already have, such as DOB, DOD, POB, POD, etc. You have nothing to lose! Who knows who will read your "Wanted ad" and may have the information you have been searching for! Please do not worry if your ancestor was not from Wyoming, we have lots of researchers here that are from all over the United States. Also, please include how you would like to be contacted. Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Heather Wyoming PS Please email me directly, pholiver@vcn.com , so that we do not clog up the lists with the requests. Thanks! :)

Hello list, I just ran across a new website. It has a Personal History and Journal Software program that's great. I found it at www.startmyjournal.com. Just thought I would pass it along - I wish my ancestors would have written something about themselves. It sure would have made my work alot easier. Kelly
