Has everyone heard that Ancestry is closing down the Rootsweb mailing lists in March? Is the admin of this list going to try and migrate the group somewhere else? We have started a new Idaho Genealogy message board/mailing list at "Groups.io" ( https://groups.io/g/IdahoGenealogy ) We want to place links to any county groups or specialized Idaho lists or groups on the home page. Of Course, anyone interested in Idaho genealogy is encouraged to join this new group I hope to hear from you RandyC

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Velma and Ora CROW which was taken at the Joslin Studio in Palouse, WA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with the two children ranging in age from about 2-6 years old. The girls are also identified as the "Charlie's Children". Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this family: Velma Gladys CROW was b.1 Dec 1902 in Viola, ID to parents Charles Summer or Sumner CROW (1879-1976) and Ada Louise or Lois HILL (1881-1983). Hi all. This is a repost My Great Grandfather John Simpson is reported to have had a family of wife and several children in, or about, Moscow Idaho. He died of exposure circa 1898 after a blizzard rescue gold prospecting at a local mountain. John from Northern Ireland was a Civil War veteran from 1862, on the Union side, initially in the fighting ranks then the commissariat. Any help would be appreciated in tracing the family. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Mrs. M. J. LATT of Moscow, ID which was taken at the D. W. Swain Studio though I don't know where the studio was located. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with Mrs. LATT likely in her 20's or 30's at the time. In addition, someone has also written "bust" on the back of the photograph suggesting an order for another photograph of head and shoulders. Someone has also written Palouse, WA on the back of the photograph. I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member of this LATT Family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Gunhild PETERSON which was taken at the Jones Studio in Atwater, Minnesota. It appears to have been taken in the 1900's with Gunhild likely in her 20's at the time. There are instructions for an enlargement of the photograph on the back along with her name. Based on limited research I was able to find the following information regarding Gunhild and her family as follows: Gunhild Almeda Sofie PETERSON was b. 21 Dec 1886 in Atwater, MN to parents Nels August PETERSON (b. 1861) and Mathilda Sofie SJOBERG (b. 1863). Gunhild was one of 4 children born to this couple including, Gunhild Almeda Sofie; Astrid Ida; Amandus; and Ebba PETERSON, all born between 1886 and 1892. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Agnes JOHNSON which was taken at the C. W. Hanson Studio in Genesee, Idaho. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with Agnes about 3 years old at the time. Thanks to a JOHNSON Family Researcher, we believe that this is a photograph of Agnes Mathilda JOHNSON b. 7 Apr 1905 to Einar JOHNSON and Gurine Bertine HALVORSON in Latah, ID. Agnes married Oscar William DANIELSON on 23 Jun 1930 in Genesee, ID and together they had three children, Joyce; Shirley; and David DANIELSON all born in Genesee, ID between 1934 and 1939. Daughter Joyce DANIELSON married Lester DIEHL in Feb 1953 in Genesee, ID. Daughter Shirley DANIELSON married Tom BUCKLIN and they had a daughter Darcie BUCKLIN who later married into the OUERBACKER Family in Ventura, CA. I am hoping to be able to return the photograph to her family. If you are a member of this JOHNSON Family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
I've "rescued" an old photograph which includes the name of Nels FLAMOE of Genesee, Idaho on the name. The photograph is of a toddler about 1-2 years old, likely a boy, taken in the early 1900's. The photograph was taken at the C. W. Hansome Studio in Genesee ID. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Nels and his family: Nels FLAMOE was b. 25 Sept 1864 in Meraker, Nord-Trondelag, Norway to parents Erik Jensen FLAMOE (b. 8 Jan 1826 in Flamo, Norway) and Olea FUNDAUNAS (b. 17 Mar 1830 in Meraker, Norway). Nels married Mary Halverson DYBVIG (b. 8 Oct 1875 in Ann, MN to parents Thorsten Halverson DYBVIG and Anna DYBVIG) on 13 Feb 1901 in Fletcher, ID and together they had 6 children including, Norman; Arthur James; Theodore M.; Helen; Evelyn; and Leonard FLAMOE, all born in Latah Co. ID between 1903 and 1913. I'm guessing that this is actually a photograph of one of Nels FLAMOE'S children since he was born too early to be the toddler in this photograph. I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this FLAMOE Family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
