Canyon County still points to the old URL which refreshes to the new URL at idgenweb.org ... Mitch -----Original Message----- From: Mike St. Clair/ST <mike@saintclair.org> To: idgen@rootsweb.com Sent: Sat, Sep 26, 2009 9:20 pm Subject: [IDGEN] New-style addresses now work for all IDGENWEB counties I've now set up a process where the new style address (http://countyname.idgenweb.org/) works for all counties whether resident on the new server or not. At some point I may start using that form of address on the state page. At this point I'd really appreciate your checking to make sure the addresses for your counties take one to the correct website. For example: http://minidoka.idgenweb.org/ will take one to the real current location, which is http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~idminido/. If you find one of yours doesn't work correctly, let me know so I can take corrective action. Note also that I will be doing some testing with Jason on the Power County address, so that particular one will contain a test copy of his Power County website published with Front Page. It won't take you to his real page. I'll let you all know when that testing is complete. Once we can all see this is working well, it might be more convenient for all of you to use the new address format when pointing to neighboring county websites. That would eliminate the need to update those pointers if one of your neighboring counties was to move to a new URL. Yes. The test is just for the counties that haven't moved. I'll be getting the links for those that have moved already updated very soon.
