For those of you with county sites on other servers than Rootsweb, I wanted to let you know that Rootsweb does not allow actual redirects or effective redirects (e.g., a page that says something like "this site is now located at http://......"). I'm planning to "repair" any Rootsweb sites for Idaho counties that I have access to, removing that violation of the Rootsweb policies. After I have made those repairs, I'll give you a chance to object to what I've done, and/or suggest further changes. Although the official links to each county come from our state pages, we do want people who have bookmarked those older locations to still receive useful help in the short run. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact me directly. And let me remind you about USGENWEB and IDGENWEB policy about locations of websites. That is, each coordinator chooses where their county will be hosted. You can chose to host your counties on Rootsweb (who have been a great supporter and friend of USGENWEB from very early), at idgenweb.org, or at another server of your choice. No particular location is mandated. You decide based on what works best for you. Mike St. Clair State Coordinator - IDGENWEB
