I say yes. I can't think of any reason to do such except as an attempt to damage and weaken the project. But I've seen the argument presented in the last few weeks that since the bylaws don't expressly prohibit this, it's got to be okay! The forwarded proposed bylaw amendment at the bottom of this message would make doing this a violation of the bylaws. I'm presenting this here to find out how many of you would support of the idea of IDGENWEB becoming a co-sponsor of this amendment. If there are at least five states so supporting the amendment, it will then be presented to the membership for a vote during the next national election. During the national election It would require a 2/3 vote of support from those voting to officially adopt the amendment. West Virginia proposed the amendment. It appears to me that MOGENWEB is well on it's way to becoming a co-sponsor. Your position on it would help me decide whether IDGENWEB should also become a co-sponsor. Support, opposition, questions, comments, discussion, are all welcome.
