Howdy & welcome! You might take a look at the State Historical Society Reference Series http://www.idahohistory.net/reference_series.html if you haven't already done so -- lots of good stuff here. Also, the Boise Nat'l Forest has some good history, at least for the Emmett District, which names names -- I still I haven't figured out the best way to link to those. Their URL's are abt. a half a mile long & they seem to change periodically.
