    3. Good Evening Idahoans, Today’s the last Friday of the month of April. Thus far we’ve gotten 89% attendance for the month. Thanks for doing this part of your responsibilities. I know many of you are busy like myself but it is only one time in a month that you need to check in. Okay, enough said there … how’s everyone doing? I hope well considering the month is almost over and summer will soon be ushering in most places. Arkansas has been warm weather for the past six or so weeks. Of course, we are beginning to get that muggy humidity and we probably going to have a long hot summer. Well, I am into my eighth week of graduate school and will be busy with writing my three research paper in the next week or so. 3. Kelly & Matt, I did some research at the Idaho State Archives with regards to the Hatch family.  Idaho didn't keep "official" birth records until 1907.  But the counties may have them.  I will be checking some microfilm for Kootenai County births.  I am also going to check the Kootenai Tax deeds for any of the Hatch family.  They go back to 1894.  I check for the local (Hope, Idaho) newspapers, but unfortunately the roll of microfilm I need has been checked out.  It should be back in a couple of weeks. I did find a school census for Kootenai County, Fall 1898 thru Spring 1903, that listed a B H Hatch & Bruce Hatch with children Emery & Lee in the Sandpoint school district in 1898-1900.  I have attached a pdf file with the information.  Hope this will help. Thanks, Virginia ________________________________ From: Matthew D. Friend <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, April 24, 2012 8:59 AM Subject: Re: [IDGENWEB] Patron's Query (Kootenai County) Thanks, Kelly the man she trying to find the birth records for is Howard Beebe Hatch. He was born in October 1899. His parents were married in Koontenai County in 1894, however they were resident of Missoula County Montana. I'm thinking that since in the 1900 census his father was a "sawyer lumber" that he worked for the forestry and Kootenai County was probably the closest to them then in that part of Montana at the time. Anyway, she was told that the courthouse was destroyed where his record was, but apparently she was not told which courthouse. She figured it was in Kootenai County, but if that was the case, then won't the marriage records be destroyed too? I suggested to her to check the State Vital and Health Dept for it, even though I know 1907 was the beginning of the official records keeping. However, I'm thinking that he might have applied for a "delayed birth" record.  They lived in Canada and he ended up decease there too. 3. Hi Matt, She did not indicate she was looking for the marriage records. I can forward to you the conversation we had and the 5 hours worth of research I did for her. I have more detailed information the family also was in Troy, Lincoln County, Montana just over the county line of Idaho and Montana. She needs to check to see if Howard served in the military at all. I know Howard's father she said served in the Civil War and I gave her fold3.com to go get the 14 day free trial to see if his records are online and then order them. She is looking in between time lines of just a few years... I advised her to call up the local library to have them check the telephone directories for each year to see where they were for sure. I am not sure what more I can do for her. Kelly~ On Tue, Apr 24, 2012 at 7:59 AM, Matthew D. 3. Thanks, Kelly the man she trying to find the birth records for is Howard Beebe Hatch. 3. I am not sure... She inquired about Kootenai county records... and Hope Idaho and a Snead, Montana. The county seat for Kootenai county is Coeur d'Alene. However, Hope Idaho is closer to Bonner county and the county seat of Sandpoint Idaho. My guess would be Sandpoint but I cannot find anything for Sandpoint courthouse or Coeur d'Alene's courthouse being destroyed by fire. Kelly~ On Mon, Apr 23, 2012 at 7:55 AM, Matthew D.
