Gem & Valley alive & well & scorching. Forecast for today is 109. I've been putting my mother's collection of family obits on line, mainly Gem Co.; a few Payette Co. I don't have the source publication for a lot of them, but valuable nevertheless. I have vol. III of the 1920, "History of Idaho, The Gem of the Mountains," the biographical sketch volume. I've scanned a few of those & put them on line. Trouble is, book will not lay flat on my scanner. I need to look around for a hand-held scanner. I checked at Staples last time I was in Ontario, no luck. Sharon ________________________________ From: Matthew D. I’ve been kind of out of commission these past few weeks since I finished my schooling in the end of May. I’m looking forward to classes starting in August. I hope to do more with my sites soon. Just got even more limited time than before with the repairs needed on my house. Well, check in for the month since it is mandatory. Hope to hear from you soon. Matt Friend -- *Matthew D. Mathew, Clearwater County checking in and doing great. I displayed my Weippe Cemetery Directory again this year. It not only has every grave listed alphabetically but has a comprehensive "note" section with important genealogical information and it was a big hit. I received a lot of comments on it this year. People really enjoy seeing how someone was related. I managed to get two more cemeteries on spread sheets and they are now being prepped for getting online. So, I'm getting there slowly but surely. Looking forward to summer, sunshine and visits from friends and relatives. I'll also be busy doing my geographical research out in the field. I always enjoy doing that. Michal

I have a copy of the book. I am moving though, so have packed it already. I'll go down to the new house this morning and see if I can find the box it is in. After I packed, I found I have 28 boxes of Idaho county history stuff, wow! This doesn't include the about 18 boxes of microfilm of the county records. Here's a book or PDF file that you should have handy for future references of Idaho County's mines and owners. This is where I found Emma Meinert and others in this file online. Friend <[email protected]> To: IDGenWeb Project <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, May 1, 2013 9:17 AM Subject: [IDGENWEB] May Roll Call - May 1, 2013 Good Morning Idahoans, Another month has passed. I hope this email finds everyone already in full bloomed spring and ready to start your garden for the year. I know I would, but, other things has to be done first around the house, like much needed floor repairs. Just a reminder that national election month will be coming up in the future (I believe its in June). I am going to be turning in a quarterly report of all new and current team members to the EC. I know there's been a few new members since last election. I will be sending in more instruction on how to get register for that as soon as I get all of the epaper turned in. Well, another semester has gone and passed but I'm still working on my final two essays. I couldn't complete them by April 28th, so I requested for a 30-day extension and still working on my writing for one right now. The other will began later in the week after I finish this essay. I had hoped to have been done but I couldn't. Not enough hours in the library for me to pull a long days of writing. I can't do it at home for there isn't any "quiet" and "comfortable" place for me to finish this kind of work. I hope all is well with everyone. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you. I do want to send my condolences to Chris Story for her recent passing of her spouse. From the last I heard Scot Stout is doing well and adjusting to life in his own way. Coy Jones had surgery recently and it went well for him but he'll be back online again soon after his recovery. I send out my thoughts and prayers for those who I haven't mentioned or don't know of your circumstances. Please do let me know if something comes up in your life that might need my attention. Oh! Thanks Sharon McConnel for the heads up about Chris' loss. Have a great month! Keep me updated and keep your site current. Matt Friend -- *Matthew D.
