    1. Re: [IDGEN] December Monthly Roll Call - Mary Lynne
    2. Welcome aboard, Mary Lynne! We are glad to have your help and experience! I have been doing occasional research in Marion County, MO., since 2005. I bet I've visited your site there several times. I was born & raised in Boise. My son still lives there. I live just three miles from the actual end of 'The Oregon Trail' in Oregon City, OR. We have a small equestrian farm here that keeps me busy. However, I'm never too busy for genealogy and the IDGENWEB. We look forward to your help with the site! Mitch Ada & Canyon County -----Original Message----- From: Mary Ellis <mogeneal@gmail.com> To: idgen@rootsweb.com Sent: Tue, Dec 1, 2009 8:49 am Subject: Re: [IDGEN] December Monthly Roll Call Wishing everyone a great day! This is my 1st time answering the IDGenWeb roll call: I am the Shoshone county host and adopted it this past weekend. I will be updating the site with new data and a new look. I plan to add new data and will begin with additional census years. I am new resident of Idaho and wanted to learn more about my new home. What better way to do this than to be a county host! While new to IDGenWeb, I have been a part of USGenWeb for several years: co-hosting 2 counties in Missouri (Marion & Monroe) and one in Vermont. Hope everyone has a happy holiday season! 1. [IDGEN] Rootsweb Redirects
    2. Mike St. Clair/ST
    3. For those of you with county sites on other servers than Rootsweb, I wanted to let you know that Rootsweb does not allow actual redirects or effective redirects (e.g., a page that says something like "this site is now located at http://......"). I'm planning to "repair" any Rootsweb sites for Idaho counties that I have access to, removing that violation of the Rootsweb policies. After I have made those repairs, I'll give you a chance to object to what I've done, and/or suggest further changes. Although the official links to each county come from our state pages, we do want people who have bookmarked those older locations to still receive useful help in the short run. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact me directly. And let me remind you about USGENWEB and IDGENWEB policy about locations of websites. That is, each coordinator chooses where their county will be hosted. You can chose to host your counties on Rootsweb (who have been a great supporter and friend of USGENWEB from very early), at idgenweb.org, or at another server of your choice. No particular location is mandated. You decide based on what works best for you. Mike St. Clair State Coordinator - IDGENWEB

    3. Greetings All: This my first IDGenWeb roll call. I am the new CC for Butte and Camas counties. I have been active in the USGenWeb for 2 plus years, specifically in the INGenWeb, MIGenWeb, ILGenWeb, COGenWeb and the CAGenWeb. I am also the coordinator for the USGenWeb Genealogical Events project. As volunteers in the USGenWeb or any state gen webs, I think we are all in a unique position to both help genealogical researchers and to promote and preserve history. Besides that, this is a fun activity! I am resident of Indiana. I retired from the IT field, worked for a large multi-hospital health care organization as director of desk top support. I have worked with virtually every level of personnel and support staff with widely varying expertise levels. Its great to be in the IDGenWeb and I look forward to being of assistance. Thanks Joe Markovich Mike St. Clair/ST wrote: > It is that time once again to let us all know you are alive and on the job. Please check in, listing the counties you are acting as coordinator for. 3. A new coordinator is joining IDGENWEB. Joe Markovich will be taking responsibility for two of our vacant counties, Camas and Butte. 3. You are right. #4, the 2nd one was supposed to say Canada GENWEB sites of adjacent counties. We actually only have a single county in Idaho bordering on Canada (or any other country). I've fixed it. Thanks for noticing the confusion.
