    3. Elmore County checking in. I haven't been doing as much with the site this past month. I pulled out some obits and got those posted. I got the site connected with the Family Group Sheet Project. However, I've been busy in other arenas and haven't devoted as much time to the county as I intend, so I will remedy that this month! Now....back to the grindstone.... 3. A few years ago the Idaho County Gen Society asked me to come up and do a presentation on the Idaho Co Genweb. I didn't know what to do, so I made up a power point presentation. My presentation was to a bunch of old gals that weren't too good on the computer or the web, so I tried to show them how to navigate the site, etc. I also included an overview of the whole Genweb project, with a little history of it. Then I did screen shots of some of the pages on the Idaho County site and also some records that needed transcribing and how I went about that part. I also made up some flyers about the Genweb project and passed those out to them all. I was very nervous at the beginning, but after I got going, it was really fun. They were all so interested and had tons of questions. It turned out to be a fun thing to do. They still put a plug in the Idaho County newspaper for me on occasion listing the Genweb site address. I think that whatever you do, as Tim says, make it fun. If you build it, they will come. . . . Keep us up on how it goes. 3. Remember A stranger is only a friend you haven't met. Someone once told me when I started doing some public speaking to just imagine the audience in their underwear. It doesn't work and can actually make it MORE scary! Don't try that one!!!! Depending on the space, you may set up a table and have everyone gather around the table so that you can "teach" that way. Have samples of writing (ones that genuinely need transcribing --kill two or three birds with one stone!!!) and everyone work together. 3. Boundary County here, not much done. I am in AZ for a month, but still working on stuff from here. We have a young man in Boundary County that teaches web pages, and some of us are going to take some lessons, so we can keep current on updating the site. It is something I have been wanting to do for a long time, and don't want to overwhelm Mags. I have a new back up drive for my computer, that I keep everything on, after almost losing 1075 obits. Fortunately, my computer guru, got them back, but made me go get the backup drive <smart man>. Could not open the obits that are listed. Don't want to retype 1075 obits for submission, so we are working on the .pps files. Do I have that right? Thanks for everyone out there that is doing the great job, we will try to catch up soon.
