Roskelley Dowies, 92, completed this life's journey June 25, 2008 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born in Preston, Idaho October 29, 1915 to Leo James and Chloe Clayton Peterson, the 2nd of 5 daughters. She attended school in Preston. In 1935 she married Arthur Franklin Roskelley. They were the parents of 3 children, Arlene McDonald (Ron), Renae Schiess (Dean), and Conrad Roskelley (Louise). They moved to Logan, Utah in 1941 and raised their family there. Wanda was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held many positions, her favorite being a temple worker. Wanda worked at the Mode O' Day dress factory. Throughout her life she was an amazing care giver. When her son Conrad was injured in a swimming accident and became paralyzed she cared for him for 11 years, until he married. She also cared for her mother after she had a stroke. Wanda and Arthur moved to Arizona in 1973 to be near their children. Arthur passed away in 1975. Wanda marri! ed Elmer Dowies in 1977. She loved his daughter Carrie as her own. When Elmer retired they enjoyed traveling in a RV. They were married 6 years when he passed away. Wanda loved to travel. She visited the Holy land and many other far away places. Eventually friends introduced her to Lester Skousen. They married and Wanda loved his big family. She loved going to the Colonies in Mexico where Lester had lived during his early life. They had 10 years together. Our mother was our friend. She made the best carrot cakes for birthdays, and loved her family and friends dearly. She is survived by her children, a sister Jean Seamons, her extended family, and many, many grand, great and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, June 30, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Coronado Ward, 2202 N. 74th St., Scottsdale with a visitation beginning at 9:30 am. She will be buried next to Arthur in the Logan City Cemetery July 3, 2008. A viewing! will be held that morning at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 32 E. Center, L ogan, UT from 10:00 to 11:00 am with burial at noon. Our thanks to Sharon and Steve at the Golden Age Care Home and Hospice of the Valley, for taking such good care of our mother.
