He was born September 27, 1946, at Preston,Idaho, the son of Percy and Della Smith Keller. He married Bonnie Jean Whaley June 11, 1968, in the Logan LDS Temple. Gary was raised and educated in the Mink Creek, Idaho, area, graduating from Preston High School. He had also lived at Preston, Idaho, North Salt Lake and Layton, Utah, Lago and in Grace the past 24 years. He also attended Ricks College in Rexburg. He was active in FFA while in school and had won many FFA speech competitions. Gary was a member of the Idaho National Guard Squadron 116th Armored Cavalry from 1968 to 1974. He was a high priest in the Grace LDS Second Ward. He served a mission to the Great Lakes and Ohio Mission, taught Blazer Scouts and helped with Cub Scouts and Boy Scout activities in both the Williams Ward and the Grace Second Ward. Gary had worked at Chemcentral in Woods Cross, Utah; he raised dairy cows for a time in Lago, Idaho, and was the highway contract mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Grace. He owned Killers Curios and Western Charm gift shop in Grace. He enjoyed activities with his children and grandchildren, fishing, hiking, camping, skiing, water skiing, snowmobiling, golfing, taking rides in the country, rodeos and watching the Utah Jazz games. Gary is survived by his wife, Bonnie Keller, of Grace; two sons and two daughters and their spouses, Brett and Coreen Keller, Twin Falls, Idaho, Levi Keller, Pocatello, Idaho, Ginger and Jerry Bullock, Blackfoot, Idaho, and Deanna and Mark Sletterink. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; one brother and four sisters, "Shorty" Shane and Cindy Keller, Preston, Idaho, Kamile and Sam Almond, Centerville, Utah, Vicky and Randy Passey, West Valley City, Utah, Shanna and Mike Speredon, Centerville, Utah, and Lori and Eric Nemcek, Farmington, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 14, at noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center, with Bishop Kirt Larson officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs and on Saturday at the Grace Stake Center from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Mink Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Grace Library or the Grace Education Foundation.
