She was born December 1, 1918, in Franklin, Idaho, to Verner Comish and Lola Marshall Larsen. She grew up in "Little Egypt" on the family farm, the oldest of five children. She married Roscoe V. Herzog and they were sealed in the Logan, Utah Temple. They were blessed with one son. After just two years of marriage, she was left a widow with a tiny baby. Later, she married Archie Glen Wright and to this union was born four daughters. Archie died in 1993. Alavon was active in the LDS Church, serving in many positions. She worked most of her married life in local restaurants. Mom loved her family and was always happy to have them come and visit. She took pride in her home, yard and garden. She shared much of the produce with others and never wasted a thing. Archie and Alavon loved to dance and travel, and spent most every Saturday driving the back roads of Franklin County. She is survived by one son, DeVerl (LaRae) Herzog, Salt Lake City, Utah; four daughters, Gloria Lowe, Franklin, Rawana Griffeth, of Preston, Idaho, Deone (Howard) Almond, Preston, Idaho, Kathy (Kent) Moser, Preston, Idaho; 23 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and 30 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Noval (Shirley) Larsen, of Pleasant Grove, Utah; three sisters, Barbara Stevensen, Centerville, Utah, Florine Stephenson, Boise, Idaho, and Carmen (Ray) Peterson, of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two sons-in-law, and one grandson and two great-grandsons. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 16, 2008, at 1 p.m. in the Preston Fifth Ward Chapel, 213 South 200 East in Preston, with Bishop Craig Haslam conducting. Friends may call Friday, Feb. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida in Preston and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church.
