She leaves a long legacy of love and devotion that will bless her family and friends for many years to come.Josie was born December 12, 1912 in Preston, Idaho to Zeffie Bennett and Charles Joel Peterson. She attended Idaho State College where she obtained a teaching certificate. She married Spencer C. Condie February 23, 1937, in the Logan Temple. They were married 61 years when Spencer passed away Feb. 8, 1998. They were the parents of four children: Sandra (Gary) Walker, Bountiful, UT; Elder Spencer J. (Dorothea) Condie, South Jordan; Nancy (Steven) Carlson, Centerville, UT; Robert G. (Linda) Condie, Kirkland, WA. Josie taught elementary school in Preston and Pocatello for several years, loving and touching many lives for good. In 1984, Spencer and Josie made their home in Provo, U! T. After Spencer's death in 1998, Josie moved home to Preston, Idaho. Josie was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in a number of leadership positions. Her life was filled with service and love for others, always baking bread or making a quilt for someone. She and her husband were temple workers in the Idaho Falls Temple and Provo Temple. Josie is survived by her four children, nineteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, her sisters Sybil Crossman, Preston; Raquel (Loyal) Hansen, Preston; Fern (Herb) Poteet, Rupert, Idaho. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses, aides and staff of the Franklin County Care Center, Preston, Idaho for their consistent love and care. A funeral service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 22nd in the Preston, Idaho, Seventh Ward Chapel on 155 N. 200 W. Family and friends may come and pay their respects at 9:30-10:45 prior to the 11:00 a.m. servi! ce. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery, Preston, Idaho.
