Henderson, 77, peacefully passed away Sunday morning February 3, 2008, at his home in Swanlake, Idaho. Cal was born April 27, 1930, in the old log school house in Swanlake, to Hyrum Lester and Millie Pratt Henderson. He was the fifth of eight children. In his younger life he spent most of his summers in Cottonwood with his brothers, milking cows and putting up hay. He attended school in Swanlake and Downey, and then his family moved to Preston, where he graduated from Preston High School in 1948. On Valentine's Day February 14, 1949, he married his sweetheart, Joyolin Jepsen, from Mink Creek, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They were blessed with five children, Roy, Carol, Janice, Annette and Monte. He taught his family to care about others and to work hard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Cal served as elder's quorum president in the Swanlake Ward. He worked for the Cottonwood Grazing Association for 18 years as range rider, and served as a commissioner for the Downey-Swanlake Highway District. He enjoyed cutter racing, snowmobiling, ranching, working hard and playing hard. He is survived by his sweetheart, Joyolin Henderson; children, Roy and Theresa Henderson, Downey, Carol and Blair Porter, Preston, Janice and Van Cooper, St. Anthony, Monte and Jennifer Henderson, Swanlake; 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Reed and Bob Henderson, both of Preston. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Annette, and his daughter-in-law, Linda Henderson. His memories are in the hearts of many. Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 7, at noon in the Swan Lake LDS Chapel. Friends may visit Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the church from 6 to 8 p.m., and again Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Swan Lake Cemetery.
