She was born June 20, 1911, in Mink Creek, Idaho, the daughter of Felix Alexander and Elva Amelia Petersen Smout. She married Carvel B. Stephenson on June 8, 1933, in the Logan, Utah Temple. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1976. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She was an immaculate housekeeper and enjoyed gardening and yard work. She loved to walk and only drove a car twice in her life. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in all of the auxiliaries. She was a visiting teacher for over 70 years. She had a fun sense of humor and was always very cheerful. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Dennis (Pauleen) Stephenson of Midvale, Utah, Milton (Beverly) Stephenson of Preston, Sherrill (Wayne) Morris of McCammon, Idaho, Faye (Bruce) Runyon of Olympia, Washington; 23 grandchildren; 64 greatgrandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Laura Smout of Preston; and a sister-in-law, Ora Rasmussen of Preston. She was preceded in death by her husband; by a son, Carvel; two daughters, Shirley and Marilyn; a granddaughter, Gretchen Morris; and by four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at 1 p.m. in the Preston South Stake Center, 55 E. First S., Preston, with President Ted Taylor of the Legacy Third Branch conducting. Friends may call Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www. webbmortuary.com.
