She was born on April 16, 1912 in Logan, UT to Adolph Wursten and Bertha Elizabeth Mecham Wursten. She married Robert John Bowden in SLC, UT on July 6, 1932. They later solemnized their marriage in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Eva and her husband resided in Preston, ID, Montpelier, ID, Ogden, UT, Copperton, UT, Rock Springs, WY, and later moved to Salt Lake City, UT in 1978 where they spent the remainder of their lives. Her husband was the president of the First Security Bank in Rock Springs where she also worked for several years. They also owned and operated two motels in Rock Springs. Eva was a member of the L.D.S. church and served in several auxiliaries including organist for the Sunday School, Relief Society and Primary Organizations and also as a counselor on the YWMIA Stake Board. She was a charter member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers - Ox! Yoke Camp, a member of the Wyoming Federation Women's Club and a member of the National Association of Bank Women before moving to Salt Lake in 1978. While residing in Salt Lake she also belonged to the Salt Lake Council of Women, was a docent for the Pioneer Memorial Museum, and a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers - Mt. Olympus Camp. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Robert C. Bowden and Fay Ruth of Salt Lake, and her daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Robert L. Archuleta of Sandy, 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grand children, five great-great- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law Rubye Wursten. She was preceded in death by her parents Adolph and Bertha, her loving husband Robert, her daughter Carol June, her sister Bernice Hoyt, brother Preston Wursten and grandson Ezra John Bowden. Funeral Services Friday, Feb. 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olympus 9th Ward, 4635 Lanark Road (3300 E.), friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at L! arkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple and at the ward from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
