He was born June 28, 1919, at Thatcher, the son of Arthur Robert and Myrtle Martinson Manhart. He married Betty Jo Wireman May 12, 1943, in Soda Springs. Betty Jo passed away December 31, 1961. He married Virginia Wireman January 30, 1963, at Ely, Nevada. Clifford was a lifelong resident of Thatcher; he was a rancher and farmer. He was a high priest in the Thatcher LDS Ward; he had also served as second counselor in the bishopric, high priest advisor, home teacher; dance director; Scout leader, choir president and Sunday school president. Clifford had served on the Grace School Board and was a member of the Grace Grazing Association. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, snow-machine riding and reading. He loved working and his family. Clifford is survived by his wife, Virginia Manhart, Thatcher; six sons and one daughter and their spouses, Dennis and Karen Manhart, Grace, Idaho, Dean and Linda Manhart, Nampa, Idaho, A. Lynn and Kaye Manhart, Orem, Utah, Larry and Tame-La Manhart, Pocatello, Idaho, Kevin and Lenae Manhart, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Kelly Manhart, Nampa Idaho, and Tina Marie and William DeMaree, Meridian, Idaho. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Cleo Mickelson, Augusta Manhart and Vernell Frandsen; and grandsons, Stephen Manhart and Trent Manhart. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Dec. 8 at noon at the Thatcher-Williams LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call on Sunday evening at the Thatcher-Williams Ward Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Thatcher Cemetery.
