She was reunited with her loving husband and all of her siblings and parents. Glenda was born in Clarkston, Utah, on May 18, 1919, to Charles William and Mary Emmaline Godfrey Shepherd. She married her sweetheart, Sydney Joseph Sparrow, on Dec. 23, 1936, in the Logan LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Sid passed away Jan. 29, 1998. They lived in Dayton and Clifton, Idaho, during their early married years, where Glenda worked at the high school cafeteria. Later they moved to North Logan, Utah, where she worked at Baugh Motel, Logan Regional Hospital, and the USU Bookstore. Glenda was a very devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many church callings over the years, with her favorite being able to work in the Logan Temple with her husband for 11 years. They both loved the temple dearly. Full of faith and fortitude, she always supported her family and friends. Crocheting was one of her many talents. All of her children, grandchildren and many great-grandchildren have received some of her prized pieces that had taken many hours to make. Glenda was an avid fan of the Utah Jazz. She is survived by one daughter, Maurine (Lee) Hendrickson, of Preston, Idaho; three sons, Jay (Kayleen) of North Logan, Dennis (Mary) of Colorado Springs, Colo., currently serving a mission in Taiwan, and Curtis (Linda) of Smithfield; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by a still-born son; her parents; two brothers, Clarence and Elvin Shepherd; and two sisters, Erma Shepherd and Ruby Ralphs. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at the North Logan 2nd Ward chapel, 1105 E. 2100 North. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Allen Mortuary, 420 E. 1800 North, North Logan and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church prior to services. Interment will be at the Clarkston Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Pioneer Valley Lodge, Heart & Hands, Alpine Hospice, and especially Amy Godfrey, Joyce Larson and Legacy House for all the special care and love showed toward our mother.
