He was born July 24, 1924 to Frank Lee and Alta Eliza Webb Crockett in Preston, ID. He married Roma Sharp in the Logan Temple May 27, 1948. DeVerle served in the US Navy during World War II. He attended BYU and graduated from Utah State University with degrees in sociology, social work, and history. He loved music, western movies, and puzzles of all sorts. He immersed himself in history and was able to travel many places around the world with his wife. He also enjoyed playing golf weekly, weather permitting, and pinochle at Sunday Anderson's. He has held various church positions including ward clerk, executive secretary, stake missionary, and was a faithful home teacher. He worked for the FAA as a Flight Service Specialist for over 31 years. DeVerle is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ro! ma; sons, David D. Crockett, Dale S. Crockett (Roleane), Kevin J. Crockett (Sandra); many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and brothers, Webb, Reed and Rees. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lee Crockett; and sisters, Florene Mendenhall and Aldeane Fisher. Funeral Services will be held Mon., May 19, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Rosedale Ward, 500 North 1100 West. Friends may call on Sun., May 18, from 6-8 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple and on Mon., one hour prior to services at the church.
