Edna was born July 22, 1918, in Corinne, Utah to Orson Llewellyn and Lenora Hansen Olsen, the third of five children. She grew up in Weston, Idaho and graduated as the salutatorian of her Weston High School class. She met Earl LeRoy Moyes at Sunday School in San Francisco. They were married on 17 June 1942 in the Logan Temple. Shortly thereafter Earl left to serve in the Pacific Theater. After Earl's safe return five years later, they started their family in San Francisco, adding to it in Utah and Idaho. Edna was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her entire life. She loved the scriptures and the Savior. Edna and Earl served as Stake Missionaries in the San Francisco Stake, and Edna served in the Ogden Temple as an ordinance worker, a full time missionary in the California Sacramento Mission, in various auxi! liaries and as a ward librarian. She was a faithful visiting teacher. Edna lived in Fruit Heights for 45 years. She received the Fruit Heights Unsung Hero Award in 1989 and in 2004 was named Fruit Heights Mother of the Year. She loved her neighbors and her community. Edna was intensely devoted to her family. She loved poetry, good literature and music, hiking, gardening, community beautification, and ice cream. She was the guardian of good grammar. Edna is survived by her six children: William (Karen); Janet; Susan; Michael (Linda); Linda (Richard) Davies; and Mary; her three brothers, Earl, Lorenzo, and Roy; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Earl; sister Ione Cox, and daughter-in-law, Rella Hollist Moyes. "We love you, Our Muz, Gruz, 'Niss, Sweetie Pie." The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Avalon Care Center in Bountiful, Intermountain Homecare Hospice, Fruit Heights 2nd Ward, and good neighbors and friends. ! Funeral services will be held Wed., October 22, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Fruit Heights 2nd Ward Chapel, 901 S. Mountain Road. Friends and family may call Tues., from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main Street and Wed. from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
