He was born February 23, 1917, in Mapleton, Idaho, one of 10 children born to Brigham Mertello and Electa Belettie Gardner Burbank. He married Dorothy Elwood on June 21, 1939, in the Logan LDS Temple. Alma enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. He loved bowling and was a member of a bowling league for many years. He was a member of the LDS Church and loved spending time with family and helping them with any project they had. He was also a bus driver for many years. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Mapleton; his four sons, Lyle (Nayda) Burbank, Mapleton, Idaho, Rex (Pam) Burbank, Paris, Idaho, Leon (Sharon) Burbank of Tremonton, Utah, and Boyd (Cindy) Burbank, of Maplteton, Idaho; 26 grandchildren, 39 greatgrandchildren, and 10 greatgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Mapleton LDS Chapel, with Bishop Randy Halford conducting. Friends may call Friday, Nov. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida, in Preston and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Mapleton Cemetery.
