She graduated from St. Benedict's Nursing School in Ogden and had a long and successful nursing career. She worked for 26 years at LDS Hospital, primarily in the Shock Trauma ICU. Peggy married Eugene Bernson in 1963 and raised his four children as her own. They loved boating, waterskiing, traveling, golfing and bowling together - and especially loved watching sunsets. She was an avid gardener, loved dessert and spoiled her pets. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Waldo Miller, and her daughter, Becky Bernson. She is survived by many friends and extended family, as well as her husband, her daughter, Cindy (Tom) Slagle, son, David Bernson, daughter, Lisa (Jake) Shadrick; granddaughters, Molly Shadrick, Courtney Slagle and Amy (Tim) Kelly as well as two great-grandchildren, Tommy! and Hannah Kelly. She is also survived by seven brothers, Volmer (Naydene), Ariel (Phyllis), Stephen (Dorothy), Rollo (Dolores), Don (Margarette), Lynn (Violet) and Elias (Joyce), and one sister, Naomi Eilers. We will be holding a celebration of Peggy's life on Tuesday, July 15th at 11:30 a.m. at Tuscany Restaurant, 2832 East 6200 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends and family are invited to help us remember the warmth, love and fun Peggy brought to all of us. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Deseret Foundation.
