Chris was born on May 26, 1955, in Soda Springs, Idaho, the son of David Keith and Phyllis Brooks Barthlome. He was a lifetime resident of Thatcher. He graduated from Grace High School, attended Ricks College, BYUUtah and graduated from Utah State University. Chris married Colleen Muir October 3, 1981, at Elko, Nevada. They were later divorced. He married Pamela Anne Salerno May 30, 2006, at Syracuse, Utah. Chris was a rancher and a special education teacher in the Grace School District. He was an elder in the Thatcher LDS Ward, and had also served as ward clerk. He was a member of the Preston Elks Lodge, ditch rider for Thatcher Irrigation and Gentile Valley. He also was a PRCA judge. Chris loved judging rodeos, spending time with his kids and family. He enjoyed reading about the cowboys of the old West, Gettysburg and the Civil War. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; one son, two stepsons, four daughters and one stepdaughter, Caden Chris Barthlome, Woodruff, Utah, Joshua (Jenine) Lamano and Zachary Lamano, all of Layton, Utah, Calli (Cody) Christensen, Scottsdale, Ariz., Chelsie Barthlome, Cydnee Barthlome, Cami Barthlome, all of Woodruff, Utah, and Skyelee Lamano, Layton, Utah. Also surviving are three step-grandchildren; his mother, Phyllis Barthlome, and a brother, David (Gail) Barthlome, all of Thatcher, Idaho; and sisters, Shauna (Claude) Peterson, Soda Springs, Idaho, Luann (Ron) Pugh, Battle Ground, Wash., Toni (David) Andersen, Thatcher, Idaho, Pauline Kunz, Salt Lake City, Utah, Ora (Greg) Eisenbarth, Soda Springs, Idaho, and Penny (Michael) Orton, West Jordan, Utah. He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew, Jarred Orr. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 26, at noon at the Thatcher-Williams LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call on Friday evening, April 25, at the Thatcher-Williams Ward Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Thatcher Cemetery. The family suggests donations to your favorite charity and asks that you never let a day go by without telling your family and friends you love them. Please spend time with them, and do everything you can to love and encourage them, and hold them close. Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
