She was born Jan. 22, 1947, in Spokane, Wash., the daughter of Ernie and Marjorie Clinkenbeard Hurley. She married Steven Douglas Aust on July 16, 2004, in Preston, Idaho. She was an active member of the Preston Community Presbyterian Church. She established a program called "Share a Meal" where community members were able to enjoy meals together. She was studying to be a commissioned lay pastor in the Presbyterian Church - she had one class remaining. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed tying flies. She is survived by her husband, Steven, of Preston; a son and two daughters, Devin (Mary) Stanger of Preston, Amanda Hall of Preston, and Morgan (Robert) Dean of Nampa, Idaho; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and by two brothers, Gary (Linda) Hurley of Newport, Ore., and Dr. David (Janice) Hurley of Cheney, Wash. She was preceded in death by three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2008, in the Preston Community Presbyterian Church, 206 E. 200 North, Preston, with Pastor Mike Butler officiating. Friends may call from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Preston Community Presbyterian Church in memory of Karen.
