She was born in Millville, Utah, on March 8, 1919, the first of five children born to Mariner and Oneata Thorpe Bair. The family moved to New Sweden, southwest of Idaho Falls, in 1924, and Veloy received her education in Idaho Falls. She attended Utah State Agricultural College before she married Cecil W. Kunz on June 1, 1939, in the Logan LDS Temple. They spent most of their married years in Cache Valley. Veloy was always willing to serve as called in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was called to many presidencies of the Relief Society, Primary and MIA. Her greatest calling, however, was as homemaker, caring for her husband and children. She and Cecil often opened their home to extended family members. She found pleasure in cooking, baking, and in her vegetable gardening. Veloy and Cecil moved in 1994 for the second time from Logan to Preston, where they already had many friends. Cecil died December 19, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, M. Glen Bair, Idaho Falls; and a great-granddaughter, McKenna Bodrero. She is survived by her children: Calvin C. and Karen R. Kunz, Preston; Barton H. and Linda A. Kunz, Loveland, Colorado; Michael D. and Kathleen C. Kunz, Preston; Patricia K. and Odell E. Bodrero, Mendon, Utah; Clyde W.
