McKay, 86, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2008, on his 66th wedding anniversary at the Franklin County Medical Center. Dale was born Dec. 2, 1921, in Weston, Idaho, to Isaac William and Zelinda Fredrickson McKay. He was the sixth of eight children. Dale married Peggy Coburn on March 11, 1942, in the Logan LDS Temple. Dale began farming and ranching at the age of 16 when his dad was not able to do it anymore. Dale and Peggy continued to run the operation in Weston where they raised their five children. Dale loved hunting, traveling and spending time with his family, especially the little grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He attended and graduated from Weston schools. He had many callings in life. He served in the church bishopric, Sunday School presidency, stake extraction program, and as a stake missionary. One calling in life he really enjoyed was serving the county as a county commissioner for 10 years. He is the dad of two sons and three daughters, Sondra (Leon) Edwards, Van Dale (Karen) McKay, Dan (Jeanette) McKay, Syndee (Scott) Christensen, Terrie (Dave) Jenkins; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Dale was preceded in death by his son, Van; and also his parents; four brothers; and three sisters. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2008, at the Weston Ward chapel with Bishop Trent B. Alder conducting. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Weston church. Interment will be in the Weston Cemetery. Published in the Logan Herald Journal from 3/11/2008 - 3/18/2008.
