He was born July 4, 1921, in Lewiston, Utah, the son of Walter and Ada Wiser Smith. He married Leone Hendricks on June 21, 1948, in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized on Feb. 10, 1967, in the Logan Temple. She preceded him in death on March 2, 1969. He married Jeanne Schumacher on April 8, 1977, in Elko, Nevada. He was a very loving father, grandfather, husband, and friend. He will be greatly missed for his wit, compassion, and kindness. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, of Franklin; by five daughters and one son, Patricia (Sam) Kent, Smithfield, Utah; Linda (Joe) Douglas, Draper, Utah; Julie (Leon) Beckstead, Preston, Idaho; Lana (Jay) Larsen, Las Vegas, Nevada; Nedra (Brent) Thomas, Bountiful, Utah; Jerry (Lona) Smith, Franklin; by forty-nine grandchildren, seventy-seven great grandchildren, and by five stepsons and three stepdaughters, Dennis Zook, Spokane, Washington; Dana (Leslie) Zook, Kentucky; Lonny (Shauna) Zook, Logan, Utah; Vicki (Frank) Michael, Pocatello, Idaho; Charmaine (Alan) Carter, Franklin; Jace (Juanita) Zook, Nebraska; Candice Zook, Pocatello, Idaho; and Patrick (Cindy) Zook, Preston, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leone, by two grandsons, and by a stepson, Duane Zook. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, in the Franklin Stake Center with Bishop Brenton Atkinson conducting. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
