She was born Feb. 20, 1923, near Rifle, Colorado, the daughter of Heinrich and Katharine Michel Fech. She married Jim Corley of Rifle, Colorado, and they had a son, Darrell. They were later divorced. Corley passed away in 1982. She married Ernest Edward Swigert of Rifle, Colorado, on April 1, 1950. Ed preceded her in death in October of 2000. Ed and Elsie worked and lived in Rifle and Rangely, Colorado, Colville, Washington, and they settled in Preston, Idaho, in the early ‘50s. They lived in Preston the balance of their lives except for a few years in Malad. Ed worked as a lineman for Utah Power and Light while Elsie worked at retail and restaurants in the area. They enjoyed hunting and fishing in their youth. She is survived by her son, Darrell (Elaine Martin) Swigert, Meridian, Idaho; one brother and two sisters, Jake Fech, Rifle, Colorado, Irene Gray, Fresno, California, and Virginia (Jeannie) Berry, Oakland, California. She was preceded in death also by two brothers, Henry and Leo Fech. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston. Friends may call Friday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the Rifle Funeral Home, with burial following at the Rifle, Colorado Cemetery.
