He was born Jan. 16, 1911, in Dayton, the son of Alma Larsen Jensen and Eldena Wilhelmina Ericksen. He operated the family farm until he retired in 1975. LaVor married the love of his life, Dorothy Robbins, on Sept. 19, 1945, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 1954. He married Barbara Shaffer Seamons in June of 1955; later divorced. He married Fern Richardson on June 1, 1976. Together they enjoyed traveling around the world with their friends. Fern preceded him in death on July 10, 1992. LaVor was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission to the Western States Mission, which led to his life being dedicated to serving in various capacities in the church. His great love was temple work where, for many years, he spent much time each week doing temple work. He spen t many hours helping and serving others, which included serving on the Dayton City Council. He loved his family and was a great example to his children and grandchildren and loved being with them. He is survived by children, Dwight LaVor (Louise), Afton Ferris (Robert, deceased), Eric, Ellen Turnbaugh (David), and Marie Yergensen (Tai); 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Katherine Gyllenskog. The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to the staff and residents of The Inn on Barton Creek in Bountiful for making LaVor’s last year and a half a pleasant experience. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at the Dayton Ward Chapel, Dayton, Idaho. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.
