She was born Oct. 10, 1924, to Gottfried and Belva Phillips Schwartz in Dayton, Idaho. She received her education at schools in Weston, Idaho where she was a valedictorian. She received her bachelor’s in 1949 and Masters of Public Administration in 1976 from Brigham Young University. Ruby was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in Northern States from 1946 to 1948. She served as a stake missionary in San Diego and Dugway, and in various positions in Sunday School and MIA, as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple for many years, and as a stake extraction missionary for 10 years. Ruby worked as a legal secretary, office manager and resource management director in Salt Lake City, San Diego and Dugway for private enterprises and the U.S. Government. She moved to Logan after her retirement in 1989 where she cared for her father until his death. She is survived by her sisters, Renee Richardson, Logan; Rosanne Schwartz, Orem, Utah; Marilyn (Allan) Corbett, Shelley, Idaho; Betty Schwartz (sister-in-law), Moore, Idaho; and her brothers, Eldon (JoAnne) Schwartz, Smithfield; Robert (Barbara) Schwartz, Rexburg, Idaho; Alan (Mary Ann) Schwartz, Rowland Heights, Calif; 32 nieces and nephews and 67 great-nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved by all family members and will be remembered for her generosity to all. She was preceded in death by her mother, Belva, her father, Gottfried, her brother, Wayne, stepmother, Irene and two nephews. Viewing will be at 11:30 am on Saturday, Nov. 24 and funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan.
